Inclusion Support at BEASTLY26
BEASTLY26 more youth & volunteers than before.
At the Inclusion hub, we will have 2 gazebos for our youth & adults who need some space to gather their thoughts/deregulate and a dedicated space for those youth & adults that will need to pray during the day. We are lucky enough that we will also have Relax Kids – Kath, alongside the volunteers within the inclusion hub. Our volunteers within the hub have experience within their own children being neurodiverse, other have work experience and other have a caring attitude and are learning as they go along. Everyone is a valued member of the team.
The lanyards have changed this year, and we’ve got three icons which are the following…

A red/green card will be included in lanyard pocket for those who indicated neurodiversity, to aid communication if the young person becomes irritated and are unable to communicate verbally, how they are feeling. Also, on the card it will indicate a fast pass, so they do not have to queue for activities. This year we will also have mood keyrings, to aid in communication.
Late arrival and early departure to the event will help individuals miss the crowds.
Benches within activity zones will be allocated as a quiet place and leaders/volunteers will check in with youth members sat on a bench & escort to the hub if needed.
Please provide ear defenders if you child doesn’t like loud noises. The sound from the stage may be touch much, along with everything else going on. We have a few spare pairs that will be at the hub, but these will be for emergencies.
Available is a reflection space is available to youth and adults who dedicate parts of their day to prayer, according to their religious beliefs.
Inclusion hub volunteers will be wearing either a white hi viz, stating Inclusion, or a pink necker. A representative will be available at the check in, so older youth members, can ask there and then where the inclusion hub is, just in case they need it later in the day.
