We’re excited to announce news about Basingstoke East Scouts, Basingstoke West Scouts, and Girlguiding Basingstoke.
In 2023, these three organisations came together to celebrate the coronation of our King with a joint activity day in War Memorial Park, attended by over 1,000 young people and volunteers.
Following the success of this event, the organising team reviewed future plans and, based on feedback from participants, decided to give it a shot for 2025.
As part of this effort, the team assessed the feasibility of expanding BEASTLY, a multi-activity day where participants can try everything from Archery and Climbing to Virtual Reality and Zorb Football. In 2024, several groups from Basingstoke West and Girlguiding joined BEASTLY.
The event was a huge success, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback prompted the joint organisation team to make BEASTLY25 a collaborative venture among all three groups.

BEASTLY25 will take place on Saturday, 17th May, at Dummer Down Farm and is open to all young people (Squirrels to Scouts and Rainbows to Guides) and volunteers (Explorers, Rangers and Adults). Volunteers and their families are welcome to stay overnight on Saturday for a social evening with dinner and live entertainment.
To grow the event, we are looking to expand our core team. Please check out our vacancies (https://beastly.org.uk/volunteer) and see how you can get involved. We are especially keen to hear from volunteers in Basingstoke West Scouts and Girlguiding Basingstoke to ensure good representation from all organisations. There will be plenty of other opportunities to join and support the event which we’ll release as we get closer.
We are excited to make this the largest local Scouting & Guiding event and provide every young person in Basingstoke Scouts and Guides the opportunity to attend and have an amazing day.
